Mobile Service, Scheduling and Aftercare

How should I prepare for a mobile auto-glass appointment?

Accurate vehicle details, safe workspace and clear access help a mobile technician complete the planned service without avoidable delays.

The short answer

Before the appointment, confirm the service address, a reliable phone number and the vehicle's VIN, year, make and model. Tell the shop about a forward camera, head-up display, rain-sensing wipers, heated glass, antenna, unusual tint or other visible windshield features. Remove valuables and loose items near the dashboard, front seats and cargo area, but do not remove factory covers or electronics unless the technician instructs you to do so.

Park where there is safe working room around the vehicle and legal permission to perform the work. A level, shaded and sheltered area is helpful, but a garage must have adequate lighting, height and ventilation. Arrange gate, security or parking access and keep children and pets away from tools and broken glass. The keys and an authorized adult should be available because the technician may need to move the vehicle, operate accessories, verify the VIN and obtain signatures. Do not wash the vehicle immediately before service unless requested. If weather, direct sun, dust or access changes, contact the shop; the installation environment must remain within the applicable material and vehicle procedures.
