The short answer
Aftermarket tint film is bonded to the old pane, so it cannot normally be transferred to the replacement glass. The first step is selecting the correct safety-glass part for the vehicle. Factory privacy glass, a solar coating and aftermarket film are different; replacing a dark-looking factory pane with clear glass plus film may not reproduce the same construction, appearance or performance.
Use the VIN, permanent glass markings and vehicle features to identify the replacement. Then compare the adjacent windows in daylight and decide whether lawful film should be installed on the new pane. An exact visual match is not guaranteed because existing film can fade or shift over time, and a current product may differ from a discontinued one. The replacement glazing must retain the correct federal classification, and the completed film-and-glass combination must satisfy Arizona transmission, reflectance and clear-view rules. Follow the film manufacturer's cure and cleaning instructions before operating the window aggressively or using cleaners; guidance varies by product and conditions. Ask for the glass and film details on the invoice for future matching.
