What problems should I report after windshield replacement?

Promptly report water entry, unusual wind noise, loose trim, optical concerns, warning messages or a change in driver-assistance behavior.

The short answer

Contact the installing shop if you notice water entering around the windshield, persistent or new wind noise, a loose molding, glass movement, an unusual gap, adhesive on a visible surface or a wiper that no longer operates correctly. Also report optical distortion that affects the driving view. Do not press on the glass, pull trim, add household sealant or pay another provider to alter the installation before giving the original shop a reasonable opportunity to inspect it, unless an immediate safety condition requires different action.

For a vehicle with windshield-related ADAS, report warning messages, unavailable features or behavior that seems different after service. A lack of a dashboard warning does not by itself prove calibration is correct. If the vehicle is unsafe to drive, visibility is impaired, water is reaching electronics, or glass or trim appears unsecured, stop using it and ask the shop about towing or on-site evaluation. Photograph the condition, note when it occurs and retain the invoice, calibration report, warranty and communications. A new rock impact is different from an installation defect, so an in-person inspection may be needed to determine the cause and coverage.
