The short answer
Yes, a shop may help coordinate the claim, but it cannot approve coverage on the insurer's behalf. Arizona law prohibits a glass seller or repairer from submitting an insurance claim that the vehicle owner or lessee did not authorize in writing.
The law also prohibits misrepresenting the price, saying the insurer approved the work without recorded verification, or promising that the customer will owe nothing before coverage has been verified by the insurer, its authorized producer or its contracted third-party administrator. The same no-cost restriction applies to ADAS recalibration. A trustworthy process should leave you with the insurer's claim number, verified deductible, approved scope, itemized estimate, glass and calibration choices, and any potential customer responsibility. Read each authorization before signing, keep copies and ask questions if a form assigns benefits or payment rights you do not understand.
